Which season is best for this activity?

This activity is best done during the spring or summer terms, when there is a more plentiful supply of invertebrates for the children to find. The session is held outdoors; suitable clothing is required if rain is forecast. We only work indoors if the weather is exceptionally bad.

Outline of the activity

There will be lots of games and sensory activities to explore the fascinating world of invertebrates.   Our visitors will become bug detectives and  see what they can find living under the logs and in the ponds on our nature trail.    They will go a special journey to discover how wriggly caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies.

Thank you and your lovely staff for such an informative and packed session this morning. The delivery and resources were amazing. The class had a great time and really enjoyed themselves. It is nice to feel welcomed, educated and cared for all at the same time.
